Low-budget way to explore the backcountry for a snowboarder. The board splits into skies to skin up the mountain, and buckles back to a snowboard for the descent.

The hardware comes in a kit from Voile; all that it takes is a solid setup to rip the board in half, some sharp drill bits, and gloves (drilling through lots of fiberglass). I used a bandsaw to rip the board in half and regular ole epoxy to patch up the base of the board once all the holes were drilled and t-nuts set.

Took my test runs on Mt Washington and I lived!

Just above tree line on the way to the summit of Mt Washington. A shooting crack foiled the summit attempt but still a fun trek both up and down.
